Oh I’ve so missed these!!!!
What a moron reviewer.
I totally agree that people can’t really complain about a book being about something it’s not (expecting them to be like your other books) without bothering to read the blurbs. They are there for a reason.
I WANT to like Margaret Atwood. I do, but I just can’t make through one of her books because I just find her voice much too heavy and meandering. I love the plot of Handmaiden’s Tale but it’s just MA’s voice that puts me off of picking it up.
Now, I love Stephen King’s voice but there are some of his plots that just don’t grab me so even though I do like him I read the blurb and base my choice whether to pick it up or not on the story. It’s on me.
I swear, people will plunk down money without even bothering to know what it is they are buying and then have the twat-ed-ness to complain to the author for their own laziness!
I try to follow my favorite authors into whatever genre they write but sometimes it just doesn’t work for me. But I know that going in and still give them a try. I would never just buy without knowing it first. Duh.
