There’s something calling a little TMI….I like reading about my favorite authors and their books but some stuff? It’s completely none of my business and I have no need to know…..probably why I’m thisclose to leaving a group at a book site because the author, who I’ve never read before, is always going on about what food or what dessert she used in the bedroom with her hubby for research. Believe me, I have NO need to know that and would never even think of posting such a thing…maybe I’m a prude who doesn’t know it yet? ROFL

by Mad October 27th, 2008 at 2:38 pmI don’t think I’m a prude, and I dont’ want to know that sort of stuff from a stranger, either. There need to be limits, and I think, as an author, (not even a famous one!) I encounter too many strangers not to keep my business private.

It’s muchly frakking annoying when people look at you sideways because you write eroitica or even just dare put a sex scene in a book that may or may not be that graphic at all. They assume that you’ve done/are doing the things you describe and you can just see the judgmental flag going up in their brain.
Oh and Gerard Butler…Mmmmm. I picked up P.S I Love You this week. Squeeee! Can’t wait till I’m able to watch it!

I have to agree about the whole TMI thing…I just really do not get it. Sometimes the things people post are just way too much and are these the same type of things that would be said if they were meeting you in person?

by Megan October 30th, 2008 at 7:52 amThat is a very good point and it reminds me of something my Mom said to me way back when I was in high school and she found one of my notes. She said that you should never write something down that you do not want your Mom or Grandmother to read…today with the internet being so public and available to everyone…this seems to be an even more important piece of advice.
