I'm catching up on your posts. I agree with Fatin, you shouldn't worry about rejection. However, I have never read Ruins or anything by whoever the author is. As a reader, I much prefer to have three or four books a year from my favorite authors that move me and make me feel a book every year of two.

@ Mad - I'm not sure the fear ever goes away. I still worry about selling pretty much every day.

@ Jolie - rejection comes with the territory. It sucks and I hate it, but it hapens. And yes, the majority of authors are not making six and seven figure book deals to write one book a year.

Great advice on the rejections, chicas. I haven't even reached the point of considering an agent yet (I have to write something good first LOL), but I'll remember your list, Megan, when my R's start rolling in. LOL

As far as writing one book that gets phenomenal publicity and reviews (and royalties) every five years or so...well, it would all depend on how set I was financially to begin with. If I could afford to spend time writing so slowly with the promise of a big payout years down the road, then by all means, I'd do it. But I think the majority of writers depend on more frequent paydays, even if they're smaller, to get them through. Does that make any sense?
