Enjoy the Ivory book, Lauren! I have that in the TBR still.
If you’re in a historical mood, I have to recommend YOURS UNTIL DAWN by Teresa Medeiros. Have you read her? It was soo good and the ending was fantastic, never saw it coming and loved the twist she did in it.
Prim nurse Samantha Wickersham arrives at Fairchild Park to find her new charge behaving more like a beast than a man. Determined to do her duty, she engages the arrogant earl in a battle of both wit and wills. Although he claims she doesn’t possess an ounce of womanly softness, she can feel his heart racing at her slightest touch. As Samantha begins to let the light back into Gabriel’s life and his heart, they both discover that some secrets — and some pleasures — are best explored in the dark….
So thrilled to hear you are following up with the Betancourt family from the “To Do List”. I simply loved that short story! Wow, you really do learn new things on this blog, fab about your Portuguese heritage!
So, the Brenda Joyce series is good? I have it in my extremely gigantic tbr pile. I love hearing about what other people are reading and hearing what they think.
I have not read a historical book for awhile…I may have to pick one up. They used to be the only thing that I read.
@ Mad – thanks for the rec! I’ve read a few of her books but not this one.
@ Laura – I knew when I finished To Do List that I’d come back at some point so I’m glad I can do it this year!
@ Tez – Well thanks and thanks for the nomination
@ Christine – I love giving stuff away!
@ Lori – I really do love it. An FYI though, it’s not a romance, not primarily. The romance happens over the course of all the books. Some readers may not be satisfied with that but I found it quite refreshing!

Here’s the blurb:
Gabriel Fairchild’s valor during battle earns him the reputation of hero, but costs him both his sight and his hope for the future. Abandoned by the fiancĂ©e he adored, the man who once walked like a prince among London’s elite secludes himself in his family’s mansion, cursing his way through dark days and darker nights.
